Why a Language Lab ?

In a fast moving age in which the world is becoming a global village, English is elevated to a position of strength and has emerged as the universally identified and acknowledged language. We, therefore recognize the growing thrust on spoken English. However, the present Indian scenario reminisces a grim truth. English language is neglected by a majority of students.

As a result, when students face interviews or group discussions they encounter difficulties. It is at this juncture that one sees a difference in the performance of those possessing skills in spoken English and those who do not. Spoken English plays a pivotal role - the proficient walk away with the cream of jobs, leaving the crippled nibbling at the left overs.

System Detriment

Conventional methods of evaluation such as written tests, examinations and assignments do not help in developing communication skills. The only way out is repeated practice in speaking. However, in a classroom with 40 to 60 students and sessions lasting from 40 to 60 minutes, a teacher is unable to pay personal attention to each student on a regular basis, and assess their communication skills . The educational system we have in place, needs enhancement with an infrastructure to ‘inherit’ adequate skill in spoken English. What then is the solution?

ETNL lab provides material for students at all levels of spoken language learning- from beginners to the near expert. All students inevitably improve their knowledge of spoken English from the positions that they were in at the start of the course. The facility throws open a new window of opportunities in the global job scenario. They excel in personal or telephonic interviews from potential employers in India or abroad and also qualify TOEFL, IELTS and other tests and entrance exams.
